ABOUT VANUATU - CLIMATE

The Vanuatu climate is tropical, but due to the different latitudes from the far north to the far south of the island group, there is a marked variation in climate. In the south it is cooler and drier (225 cm of rain per annum), while in the north it is hotter and more humid with much higher annual rainfall (up to 390 cm).

Summer, the wetter hotter months during which cyclones are more prevalent, is from November to March. The drier milder winter months span from April to October, during which time the southeast trade winds temper the heat. The average temperature is 25oC, but ranges from 16oC in the south to 33oC in the north.
